The Cutest Baby In Sacramento... On Wednesday

Well Wesley did not win the Baby Idol contest. He did win one of the daily contests though. I got a $100 spa certificate. I am going to save it till I am really stressed and tired again! He had made it to the finals and I was feeling pretty good about it but then they announced the winner this morning and it wasn't us. On another note he made some other break throughs. He has continued to wave bye bye. If you put him down for a nap or put his jacket on him, he waves to you. It is adorable!! Also this morning I asked him if he wanted more breakfast and he answered with a clear "yeah". I had just wrote about the irony of this below but I think it is offical, he meant to say it. He did he finish his breakfast and then some. Mind you I am not picking this word out amongst other baby babbles it is a single word. "Want to go to bed?" "Yeah" no fuss he was off to dream land. "Want more french toast?" "Yeah"... I have tried to get him to say it again this afternoon and of course he is holding out! So even if I can't say that I officially have the cutest baby in town, I am proud of him for so many other things. I honestly am more proud of these milestones than the contest. I must be honest the contest was about money. He's cute to me and I thought it would be fun. No loss here, I am not sad at all. He gave me so much more to be proud of today! Thanks to all who voted, I really appreciate it!!

My Funny Valentine

Levi and I haven't celebrated Valentines Day for years now. When we were dating we tried a few times to have a special day and it always ended up disasterous! We just gave up trying. Now Levi hates the Hallmark Holiday, as he labels it. We usually exchange cards, which his always say "Happy February 14th Day" avoiding the holiday all together. Last year I was so happy to have Wesley in time for Valentines Day. He could be my Valentine! I bought him a card again this year and he actually was interested in how the paper opened up to show more pictures and words. The funny part was I signed his card "Jessica" forgetting my mommy title for a moment. I also made him heart shaped pancakes. Believe it or not it was the first time I made pancakes! I personally hate them and Levi is not a fan either, so why would I want to make them? Well now I will have to for Wesley because he loved them. He ate 2, and he really ate them... Virtually none on the floor. I added sprinkles to a couple to sweeten them up since he didn't have any syrup. I also made a Valentine for his sitter and pinned it to his shirt for her. She thought it was cute. I had a business luncheon that day but I didn't go back after that was over. I went and spent more time with Wesley. I took him by the park to go on the swings on our way home and as always loves them! I made Chicken Parmesan for dinner that night. I chopped up the noodles and sauce for Wesley and he loved it! He of course made a mess but he can make a mess out of anything these days. Levi and I just spent the evening talking and putting away the laundry, payed with Wesley and it was so nice! Probably one of the best Valentines Days we've had. He would have usually worked but his afternoon classes got out too late to make it to a shift.

In other news Wesley is so fun right now. I know I say that in just about every post but it is so true. He is my favorite new hobby. He is learning so much every day! He is turning into a little boy and not so much a baby right before our eyes. He uses his words all the time. Constantly talks about something. Still can't make out any words that he is using though. Twice I have asked him a question and he has responded by saying "yeah" I don't think it is on purpose, or just ironic. We also call him boogies or boogs. He said "boog" yesterday I was like "Yes, you are boog". He also had waved bye bye agian. Around 10 or so months, he did it a few times to never do it again... till now. Yesterday he started waving bye bye after I put his coat on him to go outside and play. He did it again and waved bye to Levi as he was off to bed last night. I am pretty sure that is intentional. It is kind of hard to tell with this kid, the hands are always moving anyways. It can be hard to tell if those movements mean something or not. I am consistently laughing at this him though. He cracks me up. Sometimes "No" is the end of the world and his pouty face it just so darn cute! The other night I was sitting in the living room and he was standing at my knees and he was squat down and bounce up and I would say "BOO!" He would just laugh. He was making me laugh. Later he was playing the same game with a picture of himself we have on the coffee table. This things he comes up with.
Jason, Wesley's 2nd cousin joined us the other night. I was on baby double duty. It was fun to have him here for a bit. Wesley loved having other kids in his house. He would bring Jason toys (who is too young to play in the same way as Wesley), touch him and smile. Wesley was jealous of Jason's pacifier so he had to chew or put something in his mouth too. Usually he gets a bit jealous but this time he didn't mind too much that I was spending my time holding Jason. Sometimes he just insisted on being on my lap or hip too. I had both babies on both hips for a bit, and caught myself in the mirror it was humours to me. Too bad my hands were too full to take a picture.

Here are some other photos taken recently.
