So Levi and I had a reality check the other night. I think we need to grow up pretty soon or our poor children will be doomed!
Story #1
Levi: Jessica, did you put herbal tea in with the ice tea? (said with a complaining disapproving tone)
Me: No
Levi: Well it sure smells like it...?? (same tone)
Me: Well you smell and I don't complain...
*Laughter :)*
Story #2
We are all sitting at the diner table. Wesley has the sniffles, I get up to get something. I come back to finish eating. Later I wipe up my mouth like you would if you were eating dinner... Levi laughs. I was like what? He then confesses that he wiped Wesley's nose with my napkin... waiting for me to wipe my mouth with it... NICE & very gross.
*Laughter* again
Later I pointed out to Levi that we are going to pass off horrible habits to Wesley if we don't grow up ourselves pretty soon. We don't want a child who tells people they smell, or wipes their nose on other peoples napkins... Granted my house is fun, but maybe not the best examples we could be. Aren't those the things that children do anyways then get in trouble... not things their parents act out right in front of them. Those were just a couple stories. So we have some work to do. It is kind of sad to be forced to grow up at the young age of 27! What a shame it is!!!
These are stories of my life, my adventures and my joys in parenting.

Wesley World

It is officially fall, my favorite time of year. It brings such beauty... and my birthday:). Gotta love birthdays, well no you actually don't. We'll talk about that later...
We are all doing well. September has been pretty busy for us, like most month usually tend to be. Work is kicking my butt but I am trying to keep a smile on my face. School is already consuming Levi's world and he is just a few weeks in. Poor guy only gets one day off between work and school. Wesley however is as easy going as ever... oh this person is watching me today... oh mommy isn't here to tuck me in... oh I am up way past my bed time... his whatever attitude is much appreciated when life is rough and busy. One thing I love about him so much is his ability to make anything fun. Of course he looks to us to entertain him but for the most part he turns whatever we are doing into something fun. As a first time mom I don't know all these new stages, I don't know what people would call "normal". I noticed this wonderful quality about him a while back, not knowing if all kids were this way or not you are just thankful for what you got. A friend on mine who has 4 kids commented that one of the great things about Wesley is he makes everything fun... he always is having fun. Then I knew that this was a real unique personality trait coming out. Each stage introduces a new quality to love. Right now I love how "go with the flow he is", and fun loving.
He is getting taller, yet so tiny. I see our reflection in the mirror at stores and I look like a ginormous monster next to him. It makes me laugh. He says a billion words it seems. He is putting words together too and asking questions... well with his tone. He is going from saying words right to saying them wrong, so I don't know what to do there. Do you correct him, I know what is saying... Oh well. I am sure he won't say "To Tou" for Thank You forever... right? Right now one of my favorite things to do with him is count. He has a toy piggy bank and he started to count with it one day, I was like WOW. So I am encouraging counting, except he really only knows is "2".
(me) Wesley can you count?
(Wessie) Tewh (2)
(Me) Wesley say 1
(Wessie) Tewh
(Me) Wesley say 1
(Wessie) Tewh
(Me) 1,2,3... with him chiming in just in time to say 2.
I just laugh:).
A few weeks back he was not wanting to take his bath so I lined up his rubber ducky and a couple other bath toys to jump into the water. I put them on the edge and said "1, 2, 3,... yeah" and had them jump into the water on "3". After 2 toys dove in he had to see what all the fun was about. Bath time was a success! Yes! So then last night at bath time he put his rubber ducky on the side of the tub and said "Tewh!" and tossed his toy in... THAT WAS WEEKS AGO and he remembered. I didn't expect him to remember something so little or that long ago. He will also say 2 when he wants us to swing him and stuff like that. He'll even hold up 2 items or somethings, 2 toys ... something like that and will show them to you and say "Tewh". I think he might understand what 2 is, just doesn't prefer the other numbers.
Wesley is a true boy. The other day we had to stop while walking so he could put a rock in his pocket... you never know when you are going to need a rock right?!? It cracked me up. He just picked it up and slipped it into his pocket and we were back on our way. He is constantly messy and loves every minute. On one side though washing hands is fun and so is brushing his teeth. So clean up is a breeze... Thank goodness!

My parents recently came down and hung out with Wesley and I for the weekend. It was my Dad's birthday! Levi wasn't able to hang out with us. He actually had work and to go to Redding for school... We went to the newly redone Nut Tree theme park. It was cute and small... just right for Wesley size people.
He really loved the Coast Guard boat that had a fun steering wheel
and buttons... yeah for buttons. Uncle Jeff would be proud! He got to go on an up in the air ride with Momma & Gramps, that wasn't so fun for him. He likes playing with the cut out animals. He got to ride on a Carashel with Gramps that was fun. We all had a good time. Just a side note if any of you ever go there. We bought extra tickets so we could all go on stuff... not one ride collected tickets so don't buy the extra tickets.

I am really enjoying this stage... like every other stage it just keeps getting better.
