I love Music... my Husband... Wesley.. & the Beach... Perfect weekend!

Well we just had a wonderful weekend!!! Levi, Deanna and I all went to the John Mayer concert on Friday night. I have been looking forward to this since we bought our tickets. I even started to count down the days. I love concerts. I suppose I would love to go see anyone live, but of course I especially love to see my favorite musicians. Levi and I went to a concert this spring which was so nice, but this was the first real big event since I had Wesley. For any of you that know John Mayer and know his music you may think that poppy sounds don't fit me. Most often people have not heard of the people I play in my car... well I love him for his artistic album songs and his awesome guitar playing. Not necessarily the ones you might here on the radio or in a movie. This was the BEST concert. It was the best version of his songs I have heard. He did some new stuff, did some fun cover songs like Free Fallin', and Mercy... we had a blast. He did not sing my favorite song though, we'll just have to go again! I made Levi go this time. This was my 3rd time seeing him live and every time Levi says he will go to the next one so the next one finally came... I just bought him a ticket. He had more fun than he thought he was going to have. No getting out of it now, he will be going with me anytime John is anywhere near! This year they allowed camera's in the show. You were only allowed to bring a point and shoot. Even though we had GREAT seats the photos don't really show that. I tried to make interesting crops to capture the fun and amazing evening. Oh yeah since I love him so much I had to jump on the photo opprotunity to take a picture with him... Of course this wasn't him but it was fun anyways.

The next day we got a late start but we went to see Chuck over in the bay area. We hung out with him for awhile, went to Half Moon Bay and then to dinner. It was a nice afternoon. Traffic was aweful on the way there but worth it once we got there. We went to the beach for like 10 minutes... it was so so cold. Wesley and Levi chased the waves and played for a bit. As soon as play would stop he would be fussing and chivering... it was time to go. Leave it to Levi to find a carb though, not sure where it came from but he had to let Wesley touch it. Man Levi is a fun dad...

539 Days

539 days is just another way to say Wesley is almost 18 months old! We did his 18mo pictures a few weeks early, close enough. My camera had been sick you might say. It wasn't working very well and getting worse. I think I resolved the issue though... I hope! To be safe I asked Betsey to take photos of Wesley. He is so weird about the camera these days anyways. He looked and smiled for her just fine, guess it is just me then he doesn't like. Molly and him are so cute! She is slightly taller than him, it is amazing how he caught up since she was double his size when they were born. My guess is he is around 21, 22lbs, and he has gotten much taller. He seems to be growing in his length right now... and his head. I can barely get some shirts over that noggin of his! His appointment is later this month. I will have offical numbers then.

Lets see what does he do now?? What doesn't he do or get into is probably a better question. He copies our words all the time. He even said "Cailee" for cousin Cailee and "Amber" the other day. He hasn't said them again, oh well. He constantly tries to impress us with his words. He will point and say it and then clap with pride. He helps with the laundry and some minor things like picking up toys and shoes. We still need to work on using words so he can have what he wants. Right now he will hold his belly and fuss a bit when he is hungry. I mean it is an effective form of communication just slightly annoying to always here " EHHENN!" with a sad face. He has snuck please or "eeze" in there more... there is hope. I just have to be patient:)

The other day I was trying to teach him to do the air guitar. He was kind of getting it. He was strum over his belly but wouldn't do anything with the other hand. Just when I think I couldn't love him anymore we were listening to a song that had a guitar solo. He had one arm out and strummed over his belly. The most amazing part to me was he knew what the guitar part was because he did it again!!! So cute! He even seems to be singing at times. Of course not a song that anyone else could sing a long with but there is a melody in his babbles sometimes. We have so much fun chasing him around the house. He plays with his toys on occasion but right now Maggie and Us are the source of entertainment for him.

He eats just about anything you put on his plate, thankfully! He even knows when to pray for dinner. He tries to "Amen" it comes out sounding completely different yet every time his version of the word is the same...

He gives the bestest kisses ever and will hug you for minutes! I love it!!

Right now we love being home in the evening together. We are having a wonderful time this summer enjoying family! Hopefully soon we will make it to see the ocean even if just for a moment. We miss the ocean so much. I want to run and play in the sand with Wesley and watch the waves crash at our toes. (I don't get in further than my toes)

Out of no where the bath isn't so scary anymore... which is awesome.

To sum it up: My house is mess, I don't care, Welsey is the funnet person I have ever been around! Still can't believe he is mine! ( Maybe that is why my house is a mess because I am blogging instead of doing the dishes? Just Maybe that is why... better go then)

4th Of July Celebrations

We didn't do much on the actual holiday. I actually worked and then came home and relaxed with Levi and Wesley. The 4th was not so much for fun for us. We do not know how it is possible but for the last couple years somewhere semi close has a fireworks show. Nice huh? sit and watch from your very own porch? Yes, usually that would be nice. Not this group or function whatever it is... they shoot fireworks off until 2 am!!!! I am not talking about the little store bought ones or even the illegal ones... like the huge really big fireworks that make your heart thump! AHHH! Wesley kept waking up so scared, Levi and I couldn't sleep. Finally at like 12:30 we called the cops, they took forever so we told them to forget about. Finally around 2 am we fell asleep I am assuming the fireworks stopped right around then also. We can't figure it out. They were shooting fireworks off from 9pm- 2am with small breaks... what do they think they are doing?? How is this ok? I am getting worked up again and it is a week and half later.

The night before though we went and celebrated a good friends birthday by going to sushi and to a baseball game. We went to see the Rivercats, which is the minor league team down here. It was packed!!! We sat in the lawn area which was wonderful with Wesley. He wasn't confined to our laps and there was some room for him to move a little. Usually he would have freedom to roam but like I said it was packed. He actually enjoyed the game. The music and activities kept him interested. The crowd would do the wave, it would be long past and he was raise his arms and say "Oh!"... a little late but still adorable. We had a blast at the game it was so much fun. He even appeared on the jumbo tron (sp?) thanks to Daddy. At the end of the game they had a small fireworks show. Wesley could take it or leave it, he was so tired at this point he didn't care. He just relaxed on daddy. For being up so late past his bed time he did really really well. He made us pay the next few days for having such a late fun night!

What a difference a cut makes

Well we figured it was time to get Wesley's hair cut. It was hanging over his ears and I would have to comb it around so that it didn't stick out over the sides. He has hair like mine that repells hair products. It remains fine and with a mind of it's own. It is funny to think that it took his hair 17 months to grow long enough to cut. We waited forever for the hair to actually come in!! Mary Jane (Grandma Mary Jane) is a barbor so she cut his hair this last weekend. It was nice that it was Grandma, but he was not a fan. I am not sure how he would have reacted if it was a stranger cutting his hair. I am not sure why he hated it so much but he did. He got an oreo when he was done, so I am sure that made it worth it. I didn't realise how much of a difference a hair cut would make!! He is cuter... I didn't think that was possible. Also I had my ten year reunion this weekend. I am sure I will blog it later when I get more photos of the events. I just had to share these though. Betsey made these adorable cup cakes. Molly and Wesley had a blast eating them with each other. It was really cute they would take turn making faces and then the other would copy then one of them would make another face they'd both do it. This went back and forth a couple times... too cute!!!
